While aiming to switch to renewable energy sources and striving for a much higher grade of energy efficiency, Hungary couldn't give up nuclear energy, traditional fossil sources, and non-conventional sources, too, Member of European Parliament (MEP) Csaba Tabajdi said. MEP Tabajdi, who is also head of the Hungarian socialist delegation to the European Parliament (EP) added that even if slate gas would not start an American kind of energy revolution, it could contribute to the reduction of the energy dependency of the whole continent. This was the point why we mustn't ban the exploitation of slate gas, as the head of the Hungarian socialist delegation, Mr. Tabajdi finally said.
