Péter Oszkó, Gordon Bajnai's former finance minister said in an interview that Fidesz is governing by decrees and there is no chance for the experts to have a say in how things are run.
The CEU case is a "red-herring", because no one is talking about how Hungary is left behind by Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Mr Oszkó denied that the country was in recession during his ministership, and he added that it is only recently, that the economy has been improving. In his opinion, because of the economic crises, many middle class people slid down to being poor. "The income differences are increasing and this is generating anger and desperation, while politicians are only concerned with their power." Mr Oszkó said that he cannot see any credible political formation and he expressed his concern that after 2020, when the EU money tap will be turned off, a period of stagnation will arrive.
