Socialist head calls on "democratic" oppositon groups to forge electoral pact

Attila Mesterházy chairman of main opposition Socialist Party (MSZP) called on "democratic opposition" forces to take part in talks with MSZP on forming an electoral alliance.  Mesterházy said in a statement that he had asked parties and organisations on the side of the democratic opposition to hold professional-level negotiations in the first four months of 2013 and to agree on a joint programme before starting a registration campaign.

He said this could lead to an agreement to field joint candidates and a joint national list for the 2014 general election.
