LMP elects András Schiffer party group leader

The small opposition party Politics Can Be Different (LMP) elected András Schiffer as its parliamentary group leader on Monday. The party which campaigns on green issues was forced to choose a new group leader when Benedek Jávor resigned from the post after the LMP congress voted against cooperation with the anti-government Together 2014 electoral movement. Two of Jávor's three deputies, Timea Szabó and Gergely Karácsony, also resigned. However Karácsony became the new deputy parliamentary group leader.

Schiffer, seen as being on the conservative wing of the party, served as the party's first parliamentary group leader before being replaced by Jávor.
