Former prime minister Gordon Bajnai and former finance minister Péter Oszkó have cancelled planned attendance at a July 13-14 Demokrácia sziget (Democracy Island) programme in southwestern Hungary.

They said they were invited by the Kobak club but that the event had changed into a festival by the Democratic Coalition, whose president is former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsány, and they “still do not want to support political programs” or political parties. Following their announcement the whole event was cancelled last Thursday.
