Our objective is to provide English speaking readers interested in Hungary with a well balanced view of political activities in Hungary by featuring contents from various printed and online sources together with our own commentaries. We are convinced that Hungary is built on all sorts of different ideas, thoughts and opinions and, despite of the new Media Law, our aim is to provide an alternative and reliable source of information – contrary to the one-sided press of the government – for those who want to hear the voice of a free Hungary.

Gyurcsány’s thesis: blindfold approaches on both sides

We hardly have any facts regarding Gyurcsány’s thesis written for his graduation. It is neither enough to get a conclusion, nor to come up with claims. Ferenc Gyurcsány might not be able to make clear his thesis issue because he either did plagiarism or actually he has lost his thesis as he says. If his thesis is lost, he is a slob who does not appreciate his work. He used the argument that is not his duty to archive the thesis. That is true, it is not his duty, but he is a slob if he cannot find his thesis. All the available information is not enough for accusation, or to ask him for resignation. If Gyurcsány is a slob, voters will take this aspect into account at the elections. It is just one aspect, and everyone can measure its importance. Why should he step down? It is still unknown whether Gyurcsány used Szabolcs Rozs’s work for his thesis. Just like, we know nothing about his reference practice. We do not know all the things, which we knew about Pál Schmitt (former president, who resigned in April after a plagiarism scandal).
