Fidesz, possessing the parliamentary majority, took hold of the state power and eliminated the democracy built on the system of checks-and –balances. In the meantime it built its own oligarchy as well which could threaten every ruling government with is economic influence in the future.
Even if someone will manage to acquire a majority in the parliament and defeat Fidesz’ warriors in the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in the Media Authority etc. there will be a huge economic power in front of him. Free press is oppressed, the far-right is released from the leash and the democratic opposition is divided so the situation is not so promising.
On the other hand representatives of MSZP and Democratic Coalition articulated together during the weekend that the time for cooperation has arrived. If cooperation will truly begin and plans will be made to get over of the demolition of the Orbán-era, we see our future a little bit brighter
Ceterum censeo, Orbán must leave.
