According to the Welt am Sonntag, Péter Nádas is the favorite to receive the Nobel Prize for literature. Tilman Krause writes that Nádas’ novel, “Parallel Stories”, which first appeared on the Hungarian market in 2005, has a big chance to win the prize.
The book has recently been translated into German, and it is one of the biggest success stories of the year. Krause, who visited the settings of the novel with the author, said that the book has become increasingly popular in European literary circles. “Parallel Stories” has already won more awards, including the Brücke Berlin-Prize, which was awarded to the author, and to the German translator of the book, Christina Viragh.
