Democratic Coalition lead by former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsány passed 5% threshold and reached 6%, a recent poll by TÁRKI Social Research Institute showed.
Hungary's ruling Fidesz-Christian Democratic alliance lost 6 percentage points to 39 percent whilst main opposition Socialists gained 4 percentage point to 25 percent. The radical nationalist Jobbik lost 3 percentage points to 16 percent in April among committed voters while the small opposition LMP was up two points to 10 percent and the Democratic Coalition gained one point to 6 percent from March, passing again the threshold of parliamentary representation.
Fully 45 percent of the adult population, however, had no party preference or showed no willingness to participate.
Fidesz had the backing of 21 percent of the whole populace in April, down from 25 percent in March. Support for the Socialists was up from 12 to 13 percent in the whole sample. Jobbik was down two points to 9 percent. LMP was up one point to 5 percent and the Democratic Coalition stayed level at 3 percent support in April.
The poll was conducted on a representative sample of 1,000 adults between April 11. and 18.
