The time of Gyurcsány-phobia is over, time confuted that it doesn't get any deeper, and the nation will rise without him. Of all this he still should not be granted a free frequency or any attention, but the problem is that there is no other relevant player out there. LMP announced its New Opposition and, with the same swing, it declared its own breakup. The nightmare visions of Jobbik are well augmented by the failure of Orbán. Attila Mesterházy cannot be taken seriously, the same as two years ago. Gordon Bajnai would perform well, for sure, only if somebody organized for him to become prime minister, if only that somebody lived in council estate flats, kissed pensioners, collected notes and representatives instead of him. He himself does not plan anything like this in the near future; it is not even his duty, however, without doing so he will never become prime minister. However, somebody has to do these kinds of things as well.
Gyurcsány has something to gain on this market. There are two ways back into power: promises and being nice; it is because the Homeland & Progress (Haza és Haladás) blog doesn't reach two million voters, not even with Péter Oszkó. The council estate gig may be a hairy one but it is a rather harmless way to gain popularity. It is now clear that it is more dangerous to get on the cover page by promising apartments with all conveniences to the poor. Gyurcsány Ferenc knows this very well.
