György Eiselt offered his resignation last week after coming under suspicion of bribery in the so-called “Ecplise” case.
Eiselt was the managing director of the National Transport Authority in 2009 when a luxury automobile was rented for him by a company which then went on to win a Ft 5 billion (€18.5 million) state contract. The transaction in turn led to charges of money laundering and tax fraud against executives of the firm. Interior Minister, Sándor Pintér is also involved in the case: the project manager of Eclipse was his daughter, but she was not questioned in the case.
