Our objective is to provide English speaking readers interested in Hungary with a well balanced view of political activities in Hungary by featuring contents from various printed and online sources together with our own commentaries. We are convinced that Hungary is built on all sorts of different ideas, thoughts and opinions and, despite of the new Media Law, our aim is to provide an alternative and reliable source of information – contrary to the one-sided press of the government – for those who want to hear the voice of a free Hungary.
Fidesz takes advantage of its mandate

Mr. Viktor Orbán does not protect Hungary but attacks it – claimed the president of the Party of European Socialists, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen. According to his interview – published in Népszabadság – the media law is one of Fidesz’s attempts to weaken the Hungarian rule of law. Moreover the newly adopted constitution will severely affect the future of democratic institutions in Hungary and the future of the country as well. In his view the new basic law is not built on a broad political consensus or democratic discussion because only the governing parties accepted it.
